Follow the Leader

“Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.” (Proverbs 20:1 NKJV)

“Leadership is Influence, nothing more, nothing less.”
-John Maxwell.

“Influence is power. It can be used to empower or overpower.”
-Jeremie Kubicek.

We will have leaders and influencers in every stage of life. Some are obvious like parents, teachers, supervisors, and pastors. Other influencers are not as obvious like friends, the media, our desires, and controlled substances. In either case the people and substances we allow to influence us can empower us (make us better, stronger, healthier, happier) or overpower us (control us, manipulate us, dominate us).

It’s clearly not wise to allow negative influencers to overpower us  because if we’re not careful they can lead us astray. Here is a proven alternative to negative influencers: Let Jesus Lead You.

Deacon England Briskey often sings the song Let Jesus Lead You at our church. The lyrics say:

Let Jesus lead you all the way from earth to heaven.
He led my mother all the way.
He led my father all the way.
He’ll lead you out of trouble, all the way from earth to heaven.

In every season and situation in life, pause to identify the leader or influencer. Then make a conscious decision to let the words of Jesus take the lead. His influence will lead you out of trouble. He will never lead you astray.

How can identifying influencers in your life be helpful?

  1. To have a good role model that loves the God is wonderful. There are so many people that don’t love God and they will leas you down the wrong path. Sometimes it is hard to get back on the right path. Trust and believe in God and a positive role model and he will give you life, love, finance and happiness,
